I travel a lot. When I have money, that's what I spend it on. When going to travel, I always save my ticket and order pass using passbook. I add my passbook to my email program. You can find the way to do that in this article.
I prefer experiences to things. Riding a horse for 20 minutes in Iceland means more to me than a 13-hour DVD box set. Getting kicked out of a bus station in Prague is more valuable to my life than my stainless-steel espresso machine.
I can't always make it over to Bulgaria or Angkor Wat, though, so I was excited to see that some of my teammates are working on a site called Amazon Destinations that specializes in quick trips to interesting nearby places. I've lived in Seattle for 5 years, and I know the Balkan Mountains better than I do the Cascades.
So, this site is perfect for someone like me who has wanderlust but can only get away for a 2- or 3-day trip. I burned through all my vacation time back in March, so I love the idea that I can find something exotic and exciting that's also nearby. Ultimately, it’s just very cool to be able to book a room with the same account I use to buy cat food.
Moreover, while most of the places are new to me, they’re old favorites for others. My coworkers who have lived here their whole lives keep making noises like, "Oh, the Oregon Coast! I keep forgetting how easy that is to get to! I had my first kiss in the shadow of Haystack Rock!"
Exciting places to stay, exciting things to do, and the experiences I'm looking for. All without having to agonize over whether or not to upgrade for more leg room or pay for an extra bag. I can find a place to stay, zip on out there, and try my luck at Haystack Rock. Whether anyone is waiting for me in that great shadow or not, it'll be an experience I'll remember long after my espresso machine gurgles out its last shot.
